On a mission to create the world’s biggest index of typefaces from the world’s best type foundries

displayinline display sanscondensed
LDN Cable Street specimen from London Type Foundry

An all-caps inline display sans by Paul Harpin, offered in two condensed cuts with eight style sets for interlocking glyphs, inspired by a historic East London street.

About

The typeface's rounded characters are drawn without overshoots, allowing glyphs to interlock cleanly when any of the eight additional style sets are applied. Two variants address different use cases: the standard Condensed cut and Condensed No.2, which features a thicker inline stroke suited to smaller sizes. The name references Cable Street in East London, site of the 1936 anti-fascist protests against Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists.

Classification

An all-caps inline display sans with condensed proportions and style set variants. The inline treatment and absence of overshoots on rounded characters are defining structural choices that place it firmly in the display category.
