Falconer
Lipton Letter Design · Richard Lipton

A revival of W. A. Dwiggins' unpublished Falcon typeface, offering two optical sizes across two weights with italics, suited to books, magazines and literary publishing.
About
Falconer adapts Dwiggins' unfinished Falcon design into a working family of eight styles split between Display and Text optical sizes. Moderate stroke contrast and sturdy serifs make the roman reliable at smaller sizes, while the calligraphically inflected italic adds a warmer, more personal quality. OpenType features including small capitals, old-style numerals and stylistic alternates extend its usefulness across editorial and advertising contexts.
Classification
A revival of W. A. Dwiggins' unpublished Falcon typeface, Falconer exhibits moderate stroke contrast and sturdy serifs characteristic of transitional serifs, with calligraphically informed italics reflecting Lipton's background as a professional calligrapher.
