Bennet Text
Lipton Letter Design · Richard Lipton

A wedge serif superfamily in five graded optical variants, designed by Richard Lipton to control ink spread across different paper stocks whilst remaining crisp on screen.
About
Rooted in Lipton's four decades of calligraphic practice, the family spans 30 styles across five subfamilies – each grade offering subtle adjustments in stroke weight and spacing to suit varying printing conditions. Three weights (Regular, Semi Bold and Bold) with italics are available in each grade, totalling 96 fonts across the broader Bennet suite. OpenType features include small capitals, old style figures, proportional and tabular numerals, and stylistic sets.
Classification
A wedge serif (also known as a Latin or stress serif) family, distinguished by triangular, calligraphically-influenced serifs derived from Lipton's background as a professional calligrapher. Designed explicitly for text setting with graded optical variants to compensate for ink spread across different paper stocks.
