Parclo Serif specimen from Lettermatic

Nine weights from Thin to Ultra, each paired with a genuinely redrawn italic, and hook-shaped terminals in the lowercase and figures that give it a distinct personality without tipping into the decorative.

About

Parclo Serif runs from Thin to Ultra across nine weights, each with a true italic where the lowercase letterforms are substantially redrawn from scratch rather than slanted from the roman. Hook terminals in the lowercase and numerals carry a consistent visual signature across the full weight range. It ships alongside Parclo Sans, with 200+ language coverage and OpenType support spanning old-style figures, tabular figures, fractions, circled figures and directional arrows.

Classification

A contemporary upright serif with a wide weight range (Thin through Ultra) and a true italic where every lowercase letter is substantially redrawn rather than slanted from the roman. Hook-shaped terminals in the lowercase and numerals act as a quiet design signature. The combination of extreme weight range and high-craft italics places it in a contemporary tradition rather than a historical revival.
