Workhorse
Letterhead Fonts · Charles Borges & Greg Reid

A brush script drawn from the American sign-painting tradition, created in collaboration with master sign painter Greg Reid and lettering artist Charles Borges.
About
Workhorse replicates the tapered waists and snapping brush strokes of mid-century American hand lettering, with two variants: a clean Regular and a textured Rough. OpenType contextual alternates cycle through 56 variants of upper and lowercase letters, avoiding repetition across a line of text. Small caps are drawn with adjusted stroke weights rather than scaled-down capitals, maintaining visual consistency with the rest of the family.
Classification
A hand-lettered brush script rooted in the American sign-painting tradition, with tapered waists and snap-of-the-brush stroke endings characteristic of the genre. Contextual alternates simulate the natural variation of hand lettering.
