Speedstyle
Letterhead Fonts · Arthur Vanson

A condensed semi-script revival of British commercial vehicle 'legal writing', designed by Arthur Vanson with influence from sign-writer Cecil Wade, offered in five styles across two sub-families.
About
Speedstyle recreates the tight, condensed lettering once legally required on UK commercial vehicles, displaying operator details on mudguards and cramped quarter panels. Arthur Vanson developed the semi-script form to satisfy that practical constraint, drawing on the tradition of sign-writer Cecil Wade. The family spans two subfamilies, Speedstyle 1 and Speedstyle 2, each available in Regular and Bold, plus an Extra Bold in the second subfamily.
Classification
A condensed semi-script designed to mimic the hand-lettered 'legal writing' found on UK commercial vehicles, blending script characteristics with a condensed, utilitarian structure influenced by sign-writing traditions.
