Signwriter Roman specimen from Letterhead Fonts

A six-font family derived from Henderson's Modern Signwriter (1895), offering two Roman variants each with inset and shadow versions, plus bonus alternates and ligatures.

About

Derived from late-Victorian sign-painting instruction, the family is split into two subfamilies: Regular 1, with 22 OpenType alternates, and Regular 2, with 29 alternates plus bonus ligatures. Each subfamily ships with inset and shadow companions, giving designers six fonts in total for layered or flat display use. Spurs and other modifications have been added to the original letterforms to give the revival greater completeness and visual balance.

Classification

A revival of hand-lettered Roman signwriting style from an 1895 instructional text, featuring spurs and decorative modifications consistent with traditional sign-painted capitals. The inclusion of inset and shadow variants reinforces its display-oriented, hand-crafted character.
