Hick Sticks
Letterhead Fonts · Chuck Davis

A two-font distressed casual set with a rustic hillbilly character, notable for its use in Quentin Tarantino's 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'.
About
Designed by Chuck Davis, Hick Sticks comprises a Regular and an Inline cut, both built around a deliberately rough, hand-drawn aesthetic. A built-in alternation system – activated by alternating upper and lowercase input – bounces letters up and down along the baseline, giving text an animated, hand-lettered quality. The family gained wider recognition through its appearance as Rick Dalton's television series title font in Tarantino's 2019 film.
Classification
A hand-drawn, distressed casual display typeface with a hillbilly/rustic character, featuring two variants and a built-in alternation mechanism for bouncing baseline effects.
