displayprismatic / dimensional
Big Dog specimen from Letterhead Fonts

A four-part layered display font by Chuck Davis that uses stacked base and convex components to produce a crisp vector bevel effect.

About

Big Dog is built around a layered system: base fonts are typed first, then convex counterparts are placed on top to generate a three-dimensional prismatic appearance. The two style variants (1 and 2) each come as a base and convex pair, giving designers control over the bevelled effect independent of the underlying letterforms. The approach suits signage, title treatments and graphic work where dimensional lettering is required.

Classification

A multi-part decorative display font designed to produce a convex bevel effect through layered components. The prismatic construction places it firmly in the display category, with no conventional serif or sans-serif classification applicable.
