Aledo specimen from Letterhead Fonts

A six-font Old West display family by sign designer David Parr, built around a layering system of regular, shadow, distressed, fade and decorative cuts.

About

Designed by professional sign painter David Parr, Aledo draws on the lettering traditions of the American frontier. The family's six fonts include a standard cut, a decorative variant, distressed and faded versions, and a two-part shadow system where Shadow 1 carries wider spacing to register precisely with Shadow 2 when stacked. The layered approach allows period-authentic drop-shadow effects without manual offset work.

Classification

A decorative display family in the American Old West sign-painting tradition, with layered shadow fonts and distressed and decorative variants designed for period-authentic lettering effects.
