Ciclo Display
Lechuga Type · Antonio Lechuga

A high-contrast display serif drawing on Lucian Bernhard's Bernhard Modern, distinguished by a stress axis tilted at nearly 45 degrees in several characters.
About
Ciclo Display is the first variant in a planned type system, with a Text family and an intermediate Subhead cut also in development. The steeply inclined inner axis is the defining formal device, softened in the Text family for legibility but preserved at its most extreme in the Display cut. The name references the rotational quality of the axis and the interpolation cycle between optical sizes.
Classification
A high-contrast display serif inspired by Lucian Bernhard's Bernhard Modern, characterised by a dramatically inclined stress axis approaching 45 degrees in some characters – placing it firmly in the display serif tradition with Didone-adjacent contrast ratios.
