Designed by Juan Bruce with the Latinotype team, Willy Caslon takes the moderate modulation and slightly slanted axis of historical Caslon as its point of departure before tightening the formal language. Sharp terminals appear in the serifs and in letterforms such as a, c and r, while counters in the a and g are narrowed to generate a more active text rhythm. The italic is a bespoke construction with uppercase letters designed to maintain consistent weight and typographic colour throughout the system.
