Latinotype · Guisela Mendoza, Luciano Vergara · 2016

A watercolour brush script with polyrhythmic letterforms and an irregular baseline, complemented by a grotesque sans in two optical sizes and six weights.
About
Designed by Guisela Mendoza, the script subfamily draws on experimental calligraphy techniques, alternating stroke-contrast characters with monolinear ones via OpenType programming to produce spontaneous, unpredictable compositions. The family spans over 3,000 glyphs including swashes, ligatures and ornamental extras. The companion sans, designed by Luciano Vergara, offers condensed display and Petite cuts across six weights to support typographic hierarchy alongside the script.
Classification
A hand-drawn brush script with polyrhythmic calligraphic qualities, featuring an irregular baseline and variable contrast. The family also includes a complementary grotesque sans subfamily, but the primary typeface is a script.
