Peckham specimen from Latinotype

A contemporary geometric slab serif in eight weights with matching italics, named in honour of the birthplace of Vincent Figgins, who first introduced slab serifs to a commercial type catalogue.

About

Designed by Daniel Hernández and released in 2018, Peckham pairs strong, prominent serifs with a geometric skeleton across a wide weight range from Thin to Heavy. The family includes stylistic alternates for A, R, Y and a, adding flexibility for display and editorial use. Coverage extends to 94% of Latin-script languages across 395 glyphs per style.

Classification

Strong, upright serifs combined with an underlying geometric structure place this firmly in the geometric slab category. The playful weight contrast across eight weights from Thin to Heavy reinforces its contemporary take on the slab serif tradition.
