Fondue specimen from Latinotype

A display family of six weights drawn from the Art Deco lettering of Mexican cartoonist Ernesto 'El Chango' Cabral, with wide proportions, cursive ductus and a large x-height.

About

Inspired by the editorial lettering in Mexico's Revista de Revistas, Fondue adapts early 20th-century Art Deco thinking for contemporary use rather than directly copying its source. The family spans Thin to Ultra Bold across six weights, with the lightest echoing loose gestural strokes and the heaviest offering a more forceful presence. Coverage extends to 207 languages via 496 characters, with standard and discretionary ligatures plus stylistic alternates included as OpenType features.

Classification
