Kyiv Metro's Eurostile-flavoured Blue Line lettering of the early 1980s, reconstructed as a free wide square sans.
About
Blueline copies the square letters cast for the Blue Line stations opened between 1980 and 1984, still standing at Olimpiyska, Tarasa Shevchenka, Heroes of Dnipro and Minska. The rounded rectangles echo the late-1970s taste for Eurostile and technological optimism. It is the lettering most people would recognise as Kyiv Metro's own.
Classification
A reconstruction of the wide, TV-screen-shaped square lettering used on Blue Line stations from 1980 to 1984, which the historian compares to Novarese's Eurostile. Monoline, rounded-square sans, unicase-leaning caps.
