Axia
Kontour · Sibylle Hagmann · 2012

A uniform-width sans, originally commissioned for an architecture school, with inner arched strokes and a fragmented stencil companion.
About
Axia was originally commissioned for Rice University's School of Architecture and traces back to Hagmann's earlier TwinCities design for the University of Minnesota. Inner arched strokes on letters like b and d progressively open the letterforms, while Axia Stencil fragments the same shapes into distinct floating parts.
Classification
A uniform-width sans built so roman and italic keep identical line length across weights, with a stencil variant that fragments the letterforms into floating parts.
