About
National 2 is Kris Sowersby's full redraw of the original National, released in 2017 after ten years of refinement. Every letterform was redrawn to improve curve quality and stroke distribution, with three new width variants – Narrow, Condensed and Compressed – added to extend the family's range. Its debt to pre-Akzidenz-Grotesk gives it a grounded, functional character suited to both body text and headline work.

Modern grotesque drawing on pre-Akzidenz-Grotesk references. Clean, regularised letterforms with restrained personality and workmanlike proportions. Available in four widths spanning from text to compressed display use. Lining numerals default with old-style figures via OpenType.
