displaycondensed didone/slabcondensed
Cloudbuster specimen from K-Type

An extra condensed display face inspired by Imre Reiner's Corvinus Skyline of 1934, distinguished by slightly rounded corners that soften its otherwise imposing letterforms.

About

Cloudbuster takes the mid-twentieth century tradition of ultra-condensed slabs and moderns as its starting point, referencing Reiner's 1934 Corvinus Skyline. Slightly rounded corners throughout give the face a printed softness that sets it apart from harsher contemporaries. The generous x-height and unfussy letterforms make it well suited to poster and headline work.

Classification

Extra condensed display face sitting between a didone and a slab serif tradition, inspired by Imre Reiner's Corvinus Skyline (1934). The slightly rounded corners and imposing narrow proportions place it firmly in the display category with slab and modern serif characteristics.
