Mello
J Foundry · Jason Vandenberg · 2020

A soft-edged grotesque superfamily in four widths and eight weights, designed for display and branding work that needs warmth without losing authority.
About
Mello is a rounded grotesque by Jason Vandenberg, defined by soft curves and gently rounded corners applied consistently across all 64 styles. The superfamily spans four widths – Standard, Compressed, Condensed and Narrow – each available in eight weights from Thin to Super Black, with italics throughout. Alternate character forms (single-storey 'a', two-storey 'g', rounded 'A', 'R', 'K' and 'y') give art directors options, and an extended Latin character set covers a broad range of European languages.
Classification
A soft, rounded grotesque with consistently curved terminals and corners across all glyphs. Not a geometric or humanist sans – it sits in the grotesque tradition but with a distinctly friendly, approachable character derived from rounded edges rather than geometric construction.
