Rooftop Mono draws from early 20th-century American grotesques – Lining Gothic from Barnhart Bros. & Spindler and Gothic No. 2 from Palmer & Ray – producing a fixed-pitch typeface with a squarish, technical edge. Certain letterforms (f, t, r, g, y) take a direct, constructivist approach that gives the font an assertive presence in code editors and UI contexts. Three weights cover most functional needs, with Cyrillic support alongside extended Latin across 32 languages.
