Originally set aside during the development of Chatype, Quatie was revived and refined for commercial release in 2013. Its bracketed slabs and softened edges draw on railroad aesthetics and Cherokee letterform characteristics, producing a quirky warmth unusual in industrial slab designs. The result sits at the intersection of heritage typography and contemporary hipster sensibility.
Classification
Bracketed slab serif with slightly rounded, soft edges and industrial character, drawing inspiration from Cherokee letterforms and railroad aesthetics. The bracketing and warm, retro quality place it clearly in the bracketed slab tradition rather than Egyptian or geometric slab camps.
