Cabrito Inverto specimen from Insignedesign

A reversed-stress display typeface from the Cabrito family, designed by Jeremy Dooley with a rounded, handwriting-inspired character suited to friendly, informal applications.

About

Inverted stress fonts have long been associated with the American Old West, and Cabrito Inverto leans into that tradition while softening it with pleasantly rounded, loosely geometric forms. The family includes a Black weight alongside the regular cut, and ships with a substantial OpenType feature set: swashes, alternates, titling caps, swash alternates, aged figures and compact caps. Glyph coverage extends to 72 languages.

Classification

Cabrito Inverto features deliberately inverted stroke stress, a trait historically associated with Western and novelty display types. Its rounded, handwriting-inspired forms place it firmly in the display category rather than a conventional slab or serif classification.
