A rounded serif designed for children's legibility, drawing on Bookman Old Style and handwriting-inspired letterforms to create a warm, approachable family with swashes, alternates and small caps.
About
Designed by Jeremy Dooley alongside a children's board book on typography, Cabrito incorporates legibility research into its construction, using a large x-height and softened, handwriting-influenced forms for b, d, p and q. The family spans multiple weights with matching optically adjusted italics, and includes an extensive OpenType feature set covering swash alternates, old-style figures, titling caps and small caps. It is suited to children's publishing, packaging and light promotional use.
