Designed around Canberra's distinctly geometric urban plan, Ainslie pairs structural regularity with flowing, organic influences to produce a face that is culturally grounded yet broadly applicable. OpenType features include capital swash alternates, old-style figures, small caps, automatic ligatures and a range of titling alternates with ball terminals. After the competition, several overly organic elements were removed in favour of more abrupt endings to improve legibility.
