Facade Pro

A Jugendstil-influenced display revival drawn from a ca. 1900 German specimen booklet published by Karl O. Maier, extended via OpenType alternates to simulate the natural variation of handwriting.
About
The source material, a small specimen booklet titled 'Schriften-Sammlung für Techniker' from around 1900, provided only the Latin alphabet; Greek and Cyrillic characters were reconstructed from the original letterform components. OpenType contextual alternates vary key letterforms depending on neighbouring characters, so that repeated glyphs never appear identical. This approach gives the face the irregular quality of hand lettering rather than mechanical type repetition.
Classification
An ornamental display face with visible Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) influence, revived from a ca. 1900 German specimen booklet. Its decorative letterforms and handcrafted character place it firmly in the display category.
