A modular display family of five weights whose letterforms simulate a broad nib pen held at a Devanagari angle, replacing curves with straight lines and right angles.
About
Designed by Satya Rajpurohit and released in 2015, Brahmos takes the modular approach to lettering in an unusual direction by referencing the pen angle typical of Devanagari calligraphy. Curves are largely replaced by straight lines and right angles, lending each character a constructed, almost architectural quality. The result is a mono-linear, low-contrast family suited to headlines, branding and display settings where a distinctive geometric voice is required.
Classification
A modular, mono-linear display sans with letterforms referencing the broad nib pen held at a Devanagari angle. Straight lines and right angles replace curves, giving it a geometric, constructed character distinct from conventional grotesque or geometric sans families. Also sold in Devanagari versions.
