A single-weight left-leaning casual script drawn from the shop signs and apartment logos of Beverly Hills, designed by Amy Hood and released in 2019.
About
Designed by Amy Hood, Beverly Drive takes its cues from the mid-century vernacular lettering of Los Angeles, balancing posh Rodeo Drive shop signage against kitsch apartment complex logos. The distinctive leftward slant gives it a breezy informality that works across contexts, from laminated diner menus to wedding stationery. Contextual alternates, discretionary ligatures and a broad Latin language set add flexibility to what is otherwise a single-style family.
Classification
A left-leaning connected script with a relaxed, hand-lettered character inspired by mid-century Los Angeles signage. The leftward slant and casual stroke construction place it firmly in the casual script tradition rather than formal calligraphic scripts.
