Twelve styles of humanist sans in the English tradition of Johnston and Gill, pushed past where the originals stopped.
About
Leighton takes early twentieth century English sans design and exaggerates it, running six weights from Regular to Black with an italic for each. A stylistic set swaps the a and g for alternate forms. The range makes it usable across a whole publication rather than a single headline.
Classification
Six weights with matching italics, twelve styles in total. The specimen shows a humanist sans in the Johnston and Gill lineage rather than a serif, which fits its stated source of early twentieth century English type design.
