Yeehaw specimen from Haus Type

A single-weight display typeface drawing on Old West lettering traditions, built around reverse contrast and a tension between smooth curves and jagged edges.

About

Yeehaw takes its cues from the vernacular signage and woodtype of the American frontier, reinterpreted with a modern sensibility. Reverse contrast inverts the expected relationship between thick and thin strokes, giving the letterforms an expressive, almost confrontational quality. OpenType features include fractions, tabular figures, a stylistic alternate Q and superscript numerals, alongside broad Latin Plus language coverage.

Classification

A display typeface with reverse contrast and jagged edges rooted in Old West vernacular lettering traditions. The combination of smooth curves and deliberately inverted stroke weight places it firmly in the display category.
