Designed by Reto Moser and released in 2020, GT Alpina spans seven subfamilies and 70 styles, ranging from condensed to extended widths and from standard optical weights to finer cuts and a typewriter variant. The family deliberately resurrects shapes from typographic history that might be considered too expressive for a workhorse role, then grounds them in a practical, text-ready construction. Its breadth of language support across Latin-script languages and a full suite of OpenType features including small caps, oldstyle figures and stylistic alternates make it well suited to editorial and long-form publishing work.
