Metroflex Uni
GarageFonts · Thomas Mettendorf

A machine-inspired geometric sans in five weights with obliques, conceived as the standard-width member of a three-width system taking its cues from Fritz Lang's 1926 film Metropolis.
About
Metroflex Uni sits between the Narrow and Wide variants of the Metroflex family, offering a neutral, multi-purpose geometric sans grounded in the visual language of Univers, Futura, Steile Futura and DIN. Each of its five weights – Light through Heavy – is accompanied by an oblique, giving ten styles in total. The design references early 20th-century industrial type conventions rather than pursuing contemporary geometric minimalism.
Classification
A geometric sans-serif drawing from Univers, Futura and DIN traditions, with a machine-like regularity and upright oblique variants rather than true italics. Its proportions occupy the middle ground between the Narrow and Wide siblings in the Metroflex system.
