Xavier Dupré's Gill-influenced humanist sans with calligraphic quirks, released by FontFont in 2019.
About
FF Pastoral looks calm in its middle weights, then reveals oblique e crossbars, curved K and R legs and looping italic capitals on a closer look. It runs from a hairline-fine Thin to a heavy Black, with gently sloped 5° italics throughout. Oldstyle figures by default make it a natural fit for magazines, cultural programmes and refined brand identities.
Classification
Humanist sans by Xavier Dupré whose letter shapes take cues from Gill Sans, with slightly condensed proportions, a tall x-height and open counters. Grew out of Dupré's 2017 family Malis, which he refined and extended to eight weights with true italics slanted at 5°. Calligraphic details include an oblique crossbar on e and curved legs on K and R.
