Matthias Jordan's display family built from the punched holes of old computer paper tape.
About
FF Papertape turns rows of punched holes into letters, recalling the paper tape used to feed early computers and telex machines. The Dots version sets pure hole patterns while Letters forms readable characters. Cameo styles reverse both out of a solid strip. It works for tech-retro branding, music artwork and posters.
Classification
Display family by German designer Matthias Jordan, released through FontFont in 2000, based on the hole patterns of punched paper tape. Letters and Dots versions, each with a reversed Cameo style.
