Released in 2017 by Jonathan Hoefler and Jordan Bell, Inkwell treats the handwritten typeface as a vehicle for the full typographic vocabulary found on cartographic and historical printed matter. Each of the six sub-families — from a Schultz-inflected sans and serif through to a scratchy Tuscan and an upright Blackletter — is drawn with consistent stroke logic and proportions, allowing them to coexist naturally on the page. The resulting 36-style family can handle body copy, display headings, captions and decorative lettering within a single, coherent handwritten voice.
