About
Iranian Family Fonts was created by Hooman Mehr and Hadi Navid as part of the foss.ir open-source initiative, providing Persian-script text faces for both web and desktop use. The family comprises IranianSans and IranianSerif, currently available in Regular and Bold weights. Farsi Font Store obtained permission from the original designer to update, correct and republish the fonts under the Open Font Licence, with additional weights planned.
Classification
The family includes both a sans-serif (IranianSans) and a serif (IranianSerif) sub-family, designed as text typefaces. The sans variant follows a humanist approach suited to Persian/Arabic script rendering on screen and in print.
