An open-source Persian and Arabic Naskh typeface by Mohammad Saleh Souzanchi, designed for formal text use in print and high-resolution screen contexts.

About

Built on a 7-dot-point grid, Farbod draws from classical Naskh and Nastaliq letterforms to achieve a formal, legible appearance suited to desktop publishing. The design features fine, low-profile serifs, rounded counters and reduced stroke surfaces characteristic of high-resolution print faces. Version 3.0.0 represented a full redesign of the typeface from scratch.

Classification

A Persian/Arabic Naskh-style typeface designed for print and high-resolution screen use, drawing from classical Naskh and Nastaliq letterforms. The style places it within the calligraphic serif tradition of Arabic script typography.
