A three-width display family by Marcus Sterz inspired by Pablo Ferro's hand-drawn title lettering for Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove, mixing narrow, wide and hybrid proportions for an intentionally unpredictable texture.
About
The family extends an earlier Strangelove release with three distinct width variants: Narrow, Wide and Mix, the last combining both to produce an irregular, ransom-note-like rhythm. Each style carries more glyphs than the original family, with broad Latin language support. The hand-lettered character of Ferro's work is preserved through irregular stroke weight and unconventional letterform construction.
Classification
Inspired by Pablo Ferro's hand-drawn title lettering for Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove, the typeface carries an irregular, expressive quality typical of display hand-lettering rather than any conventional mechanical category.
