A variable display sans-serif inspired by 1960s and 1970s science fiction cinema, offering upright, slanted and backslanted styles with broad Latin language support.
About
Named after a character from John Carpenter's 1974 film Dark Star, PinbackVF carries a retro-futurist flavour that suits editorial and title use. Version 2.0 expanded language coverage considerably and introduced a variable slant axis, allowing stepless transition between backslanted, upright and slanted settings. OpenType alternates include a two-storey 'a', rectangular dotaccent variants and superscript figures.
Classification
A display sans-serif with a retro science-fiction aesthetic drawn from 1960s and 1970s film culture. The variable font offers upright, slanted and backslanted styles, giving it a distinctly stylised character suited to headlines rather than text.
