DB Pépère
Double B Type · Johan Debit, Tanguy Dortu

A single-weight display serif created for the Rond restaurant at Paris's La Montgolfière sports club, channelling the gluttonous personality of its mascot character Pépère.
About
Originally developed as part of a brand identity by Brand Brothers, the typeface takes its name and spirit from Pépère, a fictional bon vivant whose motto is 'Fat is life'. The design includes a set of discretionary ligatures and stylistic alternates that add typographic richness despite its minimal weight offering. Latin Extended coverage supports a broad range of Western European languages.
Classification
A heavily caloric, expressive display serif with a single Regular weight, designed to project indulgence and personality rather than functional text use. Its bon vivant character and exaggerated forms place it firmly in the display category.
