Sokoli takes its forms from a poster created for the first Yugoslav All-Sokol Rally in Ljubljana in 1922, adapting Cyrillic character shapes into Latin letterforms. The typeface carries the visual register of the Austria-Hungary to Yugoslavia transitional era in Slovenian history. A set of funky ligatures adds a playful dimension to an otherwise historically grounded design.
