Bouwhuis specimen from Dotless type

A Bauhaus-inspired geometric display typeface designed for a Slovenian architectural award, referencing Herbert Bayer's experimental letterforms across five weights.

About

Created as the visual foundation for a Slovenian architectural award identity, Bouwhuis takes its formal cues from the geometric type experiments of Herbert Bayer and the broader Bauhaus tradition. Letterforms are constructed with deliberate artistic intent rather than functional neutrality, including a figure 8 shaped to resemble a house. Five weights from Thin to Bold give the family modest range for identity applications.

Classification

A geometric display typeface with Bauhaus-inspired letterforms, drawing directly from Herbert Bayer's avant-garde type experiments. The strict geometric construction and artistic approach place it firmly in the display category rather than functional geometric sans-serif.
