Dx Gotha specimen from Dirty Line Studio

A considered contemporary blackletter from Hendra Maulia and M. Sadikun, built around deliberate compression and density for headline and logotype work in a gothic register.

About

Dx Gotha packs 338 glyphs into a single regular weight, its letterforms arranged for maximum density within minimal space – an intentional claustrophobia that reads well at scale but limits it to display use. The calligraphic gothic structure is handled with care: discretionary ligatures, stylistic alternates and 83-language Latin coverage give it more utility than most single-weight blackletter faces. It suits logotypes, posters and branding with a dark or gothic register; it is not a text face.

Classification

Dense contemporary blackletter with deliberately compressed letterfit; calligraphic gothic origins filtered through a modern, high-density sensibility. Single regular weight with stylistic alternates and discretionary ligatures. Optimised for display and logotype use, not continuous text.
