About
Piston looks to the engines of the late industrial revolution rather than Victorian ornament, setting black and tight with fine serifs at the ends of its strokes. A large set of ligatures substitutes automatically to tighten words. Skaggs meant it to be pulled about, so outlining it and stretching the strokes into a logotype is part of the plan.
