Lalaconká
Cyla Costa Studio · Cyla Costa

A custom display typeface created for Brazilian rapper Karol Conká's music video Lalá, rooted in pixo street lettering and vernacular calligraphy from Brazil.
About
Designed as part of an all-female creative team, the typeface translates the raw energy of Brazilian pixo script and vernacular calligraphy into a cohesive type system. It was purpose-built for the bold visual language of the Lalá music video, with letterforms that carry the directness and physicality of street-applied text. Font production was handled by Aline Kaori alongside type design by Cyla Costa.
Classification
A custom display typeface drawing on Brazilian pixo street lettering and vernacular calligraphy, resulting in a raw, expressive character suited to display and motion contexts rather than text setting.
