Coanda specimen from CoType Foundry

A strict modular display face from London's CoType Foundry, drawing on Crouwel and Castellano to balance geometric construction with just enough optical adjustment for practical legibility.

About

Coanda runs from Thin to Black across five weights, each built on a rigid modular grid with occasional optical concessions. Four stylistic sets, including hairline alternates, extend its range across scales. Its character set covers Eastern and Western European diacritics, mathematical symbols and fractions, with logotypes and editorial display as its natural territory.

Classification

Strict modular geometric construction with optical adjustments for legibility. Five weights from Thin to Black; no italics, condensed or mono variants. Four stylistic sets including hairline alternates. Inspired by Wim Crouwel, Mimmo Castellano and The Designers Republic.
