Altform
CoType Foundry · Mark Bloom · 2021

A geometric grotesque with seven weights and matching italics that holds its neutrality in text while revealing considered detail at display sizes.
About
Altform blends the clean structure of a geometric sans with the character of a grotesque, giving it broad utility across editorial and branding work. Released in 2021 by CoType Foundry's Mark Bloom, it comes in 14 static styles plus a variable font with a customisable italic slant axis. Eleven stylistic sets unlock alternate letterforms including wind-blown strokes, a single-storey 'a', and three ampersand designs.
Classification
Geometric sans-serif with grotesque personality. Constructed geometry provides neutrality while details in the R, t, k and optional alternate letterforms add idiosyncrasy. Available as static fonts and a variable font with a custom italic slant axis (0° to 10°). Eleven stylistic sets including single-storey 'a', wind-blown curved stems on d, i, j, l, u, y, alternate g, J, Q, R, 4, and three ampersand designs.
