MegaMegaTypeType
A three-weight old style serif drawn by Benjamin Critton in dialogue with Colophon's own Value Sans, referencing Plantin Infant and Italian Old Style as its primary models.
About
Value Serif shares its geometric foundations with Value Sans, the two families conceived together as a response to ideas around cultural and fiscal exchange. Three weights – Regular, Medium and Bold – each carry true italic companions added in 2023, and the family is available in Standard and Professional versions, the latter extending OpenType features. The design pays deliberate homage to old style serif precedents while maintaining a contemporary sensibility.
Classification
Draws on old style serif precedents including Plantin Infant and Italian Old Style, with humanist proportions and, from 2023, true italic companions rather than obliques.
