MegaMegaTypeType
The monospaced branch of Colophon's Transcript family, originally commissioned for fashion magazine Centrefold and later extended into four weights in a fixed-width format.
About
Transcript began as a single-weight commission by Studio Baer for fashion magazine Centrefold in 2010, later developed into a full type family with both proportional and monospaced variants. The Mono branch offers four weights – Light, Regular, Medium and Bold – in the Pro variant, which includes Cyrillic and Greek scripts alongside OpenType features. It fills a niche for editorial monospaced typography with a humanist sensibility rather than a purely utilitarian one.
Classification
A monospaced variant of the Transcript family, designed with fixed-width spacing throughout. The design retains the humanist character of the proportional Transcript while conforming to the constraints of monospaced typesetting.
