A single-weight condensed black display family from Colophon, loosely derived from ITC Ultra Bold Condensed, distinguished by rounded corners that echo photostat production artefacts.
About
Flou takes its name from the French word for blurry or vague, nodding to both its rounded letterforms and its source material: an undigitised version of ITC Ultra Bold Condensed reproduced via photostat. Every edge carries a consistent corner rounding that introduces warmth without softening the face's overall intensity. The Pro variant includes an extensive set of alternates, swash capitals for K, R and Z, turned terminals on h, n and m, and contextual and discretionary ligatures across both the upright and italic.
Classification
A single-weight condensed display family with heavy black weight and rounded corners, loosely derived from ITC Ultra Bold Condensed. Its expressive alternates and swash capitals place it firmly in the display category rather than a workhorse sans.
